Play the Lottery in Florida

There are scores of people trying to supplement their income at the moment, and one way in which lots try to supplement it is by playing the National Lottery. Although winning a million pound jackpot might be a bit of a long shot, there’s certainly no harm in trying- especially since there are also lesser amounts up for grabs and tickets cost so little.

Years ago, when the National Lottery was unleashed to the nation, just one draw per week took place- on Saturday night. However, as the lottery proved more and more of a success, further draws were introduced, and at present you have several chances a week to win big, so you don’t have to sit around and wait for the weekend to arrive.

Even some of those who are up on all of the latest developments within the UK National Lottery still don’t realise that there’s a lot more choice than this though, and that as well as taking part in the UK lottery, they can also participate in lotteries in other countries.

Brazilian, Canadian and American lotteries are a small selection of your options, with American lotteries in particular presenting you with a lot of choice. Many states within America hold their own lotteries, so you’re not confined to one big draw. This means that you can give yourself several chances of success.

If you’re a little puzzled as to how you’re supposed to take part in these lotteries when you live such a long way away, there’s really no need to be. The wonder that is the internet enables you to purchase your tickets online with speed and ease, and checking lottery results over the internet is also simple.

So, whether you play for fun or play to try and win, there’s certainly no reason why you just have to play in the UK. Spreading your wings and playing other lotteries can really add to excitement levels too- so why not step your lottery playing up a little and perhaps even step up your chances of winning?!

Coldplay Crisis Concert, Liverpool City Centre

On Sunday night I went to a charity concert which was being organised by Coldplay to help the homeless charity Crisis in Liverpool City Centre. It was one of the best gigs that I have been to in a long time as the atmosphere was fantastic and 100% of my ticket was going to the charity. The highlight of the night for me was when Gary Barlow jointed Chris Martin and the rest of Coldplay on stage and they sang the Take That classic, Back for Good. They were also joined on stage by Peter Key as well, and then they all sang the new Coldplay Christmas single.

Basehunter gets arrested

The renowned Swedish DJ Basehunter, real name Jonas Erik Altberg, was arrested last week on sexual assault charges by the Scottish police. The Swedish DJ has denied sexually assaulting 2 women in a Scottish night club on 10th December 2010. The incident occurred in Kitty’s night club in Kirkcaldy. He was arrested by the Fife police and has now been released on bail but will be appearing in court in January following the charges. Basehunter’s publicist, Scott Simons, said that the allegations were totally untrue but that the Swedish DJ would continue to cooperate with the Scottish police until this incident had been resolved.

Hed Kandi Clothes

Well its Christmas time and I took a day’s holiday yesterday to do some Christmas shopping in Liverpool city centre and the newest addition to the Liverpool One shopping area in the heart of the city centre is a Hed Kandi clothes shop. Hed Kandi has launched a range of clothes that are focused around their target audience which are young, fun loving women. Their clothes initially launched in partnership with Miss Selfridge where they have launched a range of party dresses which are aimed at the types of people who use their clubs. They now have a standalone store in Liverpool One which appeared to be doing very well.

Pacha – A global Franchise

Many of the techno clubs are no longer just one club in one country, such as Ministry of Sound in London or Pacha in Ibiza, they are rapidly expanding into all different countries. It appears that wherever British tourists go there will be a franchised club out there with them. For example when I was recently on holiday in Sharm el Sheikh in Egypt there was a Pacha night club there which I was not expecting at all. Then again when I went away for a city break to New York City there was another Pacha night club there too. It appears that Ibiza has lost its unique mega clubs as they are rolled across the world.

Ministry of Sound

Recently I had my first visit to the Ministry of Sound in London, the club is very famous with people travelling from all over the word to visit it and have a night out there. It has also won many awards as well as recently it was ranked 6th DJ Magazine’s 2009 top 100 clubs poll in 2009. The initial aim of the Ministry of Sound’s founder was to create London’s first club which was solely based on American house music which he had hear in New York City. The club opened on 21st September 1991 and the brand has continued to grow ever since and is still regarded as being at the forefront of the global dance music scene.

New underground techno album from the Ministry of Sound

Here is yet another top release from the Ministry of Sound which went on sale on the 15th of August. The album is entitled ‘The Underground 2010: Techno’ and it provides techno music fans with a real treat.

This album is the seventh in the current series and once again it offers cutting edge techno from some of the best known labels in the business. You can choose to download tracks online from the likes of Amazon and iTunes or purchase the entire album.

As we have come to expect from the Ministry of Sound, there are great collaborations between the top DJs and producers. This 2CD compilation just goes to show how far techno has come.

The origins of techno music

Techno music seems to have been around for years, and many modern dj’s and artists- particularly within the trance and electronica genres- have been heavily influenced by it.

Techno is a type of dance music that can be traced back to Detroit, Michigan, from around the mid to late 1980s.

Techno music also influenced many other genres during this period, in particular hardcore- although this was less electronic.

Techno is often blamed for the death of the disco music scene, which dominated the 70′s and early 80′s.

As the techno scene was considered to be very underground- even during its heyday- it produced very little acts who managed to break into the mainstream.

Although techno music is considered as a genre in its own right, it does tend to get generalised as dance music.
